PRODIGY PRESCHOOL at Providence Christian Church is a childcare center designed to meet the early childhood education needs of the community with low teacher/student ratios, curriculum, training, and personnel standards that meet the highest STARS for Kids Now Child Care Quality Rating System Standards. Staff are highly trained with CPR and First Aid Certification.
The center serves children 2 years old until they are ready to start Kindergarten. The mission is to provide quality education to promote school readiness and enhance children’s physical development. Each child is unique with different abilities, interests, and talents and for this important reason, we are committed to providing a diverse learning environment that will engage learning and exploration. The teaching objectives and environmental setting will be designed to satisfy each child’s needs and interests. Each child will be guided to learn problem-solving strategies to accomplish tasks and achieve goals. Children will be able to explore and learn safely with toys and equipment appropriate for their age. Each child will become more independent and capable through opportunities to investigate and learn through play and structured activities, individually and in groups, according to their developmental needs and interests.
The director, Leigh Webster Mattingly, grew up in Nicholasville, KY and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky in Business and Education. Mrs. Mattingly has been a dance coach for East Jessamine Middle School, a Substitute teacher for Jessamine County Public Schools, a Summer Camp Director, a Nanny and teacher in the UK Early Childhood Lab.
